Normally, children are incorporated as dependents to an adult’s health insurance policy which could have been bought by the individual or through an business owner’s group health insurance plan. This plan usually includes all medical needs children may have in their life up till the age of 18 or 22 if the child lives at home or is the child is enrolled in college. At which time, the child is excluded from the parents’ plan and must acquire their own health insurance coverage through their employer or by enrolling in an individual health insurance plan. The expense of including a child as a dependent in an adult’s policy is relatively affordable since most of the premium payments are shouldered by the employer, so it’s a good idea to add your children in your health insurance coverage while you still have a job. Majority of the plans cover annual check ups, essential appointments with the physician for administering immunizations. When all immunizations have been given, the children’s health insurance will only include the annual physical check ups.
